Culture Management
Culture represents the unwritten rules and standards of behavior that allow people within your organization to operate in a predictable manner. Productive cultures generate energy and results. Dysfunctional cultures impede performance.
As the CEO of one of our mulit-national client organizations noted:
“Either we manage culture or we live with what has been laid down over the years. In this competitive environment, I need culture to line up with our aspirations and strategy. This is too important for us to leave to chance.”
Intentional culture management is particularly important when companies refresh their strategy, acquire new entities, or find themselves stalled or losing talent.
We enable you to understand what aspects of your current culture are accelerating performance and what aspects are holding you back. With this clarity, we help you to design your preferred culture and execute a customized plan for sustainable culture management.
How it Works
Our typical engagement includes the following:
Clarify your “Winning Aspiration”
We work with leaders to answer the following questions:
- What does winning mean for us?
- How will we know we are winning?
- What culture is needed for us to win?
Assess your Current Culture
We evaluate your current culture with a mixed approach of focus groups, observation, surveys and interviews. We clarify the current culture and existing norms to provide a solid jumping off point for intentional culture management.
Describe your “Winning Culture”
We work with your senior leaders to explore how aspects of the current culture accelerate achievement of the winning aspiration and how other aspects of the current culture are impeding success.
Design your “Winning Culture”
We conduct a Culture Design Lab to help your leaders articulate what they want and determine how to proceed in a methodical manner.
Intentionally Manage Culture
Once a path forward is identified and agreed, we work with your leaders throughout the organization to execute the plan. Depending on the size of the organization, this step may incorporate cascading conversations that are supported by Centauric’s Meeting in a Box. When appropriate, we deploy the Centauric Habit Builder to nudge and reinforce behaviors associated with desired norms.
Evaluate your Impact
The process concludes with an evaluation of progress toward the achievement of your desired culture.
